Stage Manager Wanted

Seeking awesome SM for All Terrain Theater’s “Women in Solodarity: Waking Up”

All Terrain Theater is looking for a very organized, responsible Stage Manager for our 2015 “Women in Solodarity: Waking Up” solo showcase project in association with the International Home Theater Festival. Our fourth annual Women in Solodarity showcase production will be fairly low-key, but we do need a strong Stage Manager who can keep everyone on track and provide support in a variety of areas. Rehearsals begin in May and performances are in June.

Responsibilities:
* Maintain the calendar.
* Assist the director during rehearsals and performances as needed.
* Help to arrange alternate rehearsals as needed.
* Minor sound and lighting operator duties (we are performing in a home and both sound and lighting needs will be very simple).
* Provide basic blocking notes support.
* Manage placement of props in coordination with the actors.
* Coordinate the guest list and comp list with the person handling box office (serve as a possible back-up ticket taker if needed).
* Help set up and break down for each show (mostly moving chairs, clearing away clutter, and putting small props away).

Performances:
1st performance/open: Friday, June 12th – 8 pm
2nd performance: Saturday, June 13th – 7 pm
3rd performance: Monday, June 15th – 8 pm
4th performance: Friday, June 19th – 8 pm
5th performance: Saturday, June 20th – 1 pm
6th performance/closing: Sunday, June 28th – 5 pm

Possible extensions:
Saturday, June 20th – 7 pm
Monday, June 22nd
Wednesday, June 24th

Compensation:
The Stage Manager will receive a small travel stipend and a share of all ticket sales.

Audition for the 2015 Women in Solodarity Showcase

Seeking versatile female actors for solo performances for “Women in Solodarity: Waking Up”

Seeking versatile female actors to perform solo performance pieces (plays with multiple characters all performed by the same actor), monologues, and solo storytelling pieces in All Terrain Theater’s fourth annual Women in Solodarity showcase, “Women in Solodarity: Waking Up.” All Terrain Theater is committed to promoting new works by local playwrights featuring strong and interesting female characters while showcasing the original works by female playwrights.

We’re looking for women of all ethnicities and ages (over 18) who can perform monologues as well as solo performances featuring multiple characters played by the same actor (non-equity). Actors will be asked to perform off-book for solo performances ranging from 10 to 20 minutes each.

This show is produced in association with the International Home Theater Festival and will be performed at a private residence in Central Berkeley. Please note: our performance venue has cats and a dog, though they will not be present for the shows. Rehearsals begin in May and performances are in June.

We are casting up to three actors for three separate plays.

Character A: mid twenties with a presence that can be both big and small.

Character B: flexible in age, good with dramatic physicality / tumbling / potential small-scale acrobatics, that sort of thing.

Character C: flexible in age, with a flair for the insane; good with dark humor.

Performances:
1st performance/open: Friday, June 12th – 8 pm
2nd performance: Saturday, June 13th – 7 pm
3rd performance: Monday, June 15th – 8 pm
4th performance: Friday, June 19th – 8 pm
5th performance: Saturday, June 20th – 1 pm

Actors and crew will split revenues from ticket sales and will receive a small travel stipend.

Actors must be non-Equity.

Auditions are Saturday, April 18 at the Firehouse Art Collective in Berkeley (3140 Martin Luther King Way, across the street from Ashby BART). Audition slots will be scheduled between 12:00-3:00.
